Estate Planning Attorney
A Note from Libby Banks
If you’re like me, family is your highest priority. Whether your family consists of your spouse and children, a blended family or the friends you hold dear, I can help. Together, we’ll put in place an estate plan that cares for you and for your family. That plan will assure that your family is easily able to step in to care for you if you become incapacitated, and that your estate is distributed the way you want on your death.
My goal is to make the process of doing your estate planning as smooth as possible. Putting together your plan is easier than you think. My plans help you eliminate any court involvement in your estate. And without a proper estate plan, things could be anything but easy. Your family may end up with time consuming and expensive court proceedings, and heartache to go with it.
Why put off putting a plan in place any longer? Our office offers a free initial estate planning consultation to review your unique circumstances and makes recommendations about what to put in place for your situation.
Libby Banks has a passion for providing education about estate planning and for putting the right estate plan together for each client. That passion comes from first-hand experience with the problems and family rifts an unplanned estate can cause.
Libby’s first exposure to estate planning was as a litigation attorney in the big fights over estates. Clients hired Libby to sort out the gigantic mess left by their loved one, and the inevitable and escalating disagreements about the estate. Other clients retained her to fight for a share of the estate when a sibling, stepparent or other relative took advantage of his position as executor of the estate. Time and again, Libby heard clients tell her they would never speak to their siblings again, or lamenting that the messy estate issues were breaking the family apart. As she often says, “I value family highly, and these cases broke my heart. I went into estate planning to help clients avoid these messy fights.” Now Libby focuses on avoiding those problems that come from an unplanned estate by representing clients in Estate Planning, preparing Wills and Trusts, Asset Protection planning and Probate and Trust Administration.
In her effort to educate the public about the importance of estate planning, Libby writes articles for publication in the Moon Valley Tattler, the Paradise Valley News and the City Sun Times. She also conducts seminars on a regular basis. See our Events page for the time and place of our latest seminar.
